    Die Tabelle der Gelände-Daten enthält 1040 Punkte. Sie ist nicht zum
 vollständigen durchlesen geeignet, sondern aus folgenden Gründen hier in den
 Anhang aufgenommen: 1) Der Leser hat damit nicht nur die summarische Information
  der Geologischen Karte, sondern er kann, wenn gewünscht, detailliert jeden
 einzelnen aufgenommenen Punkt kontrollieren in Bezug auf Gelände-Ansprache,
 Gefügemeßwerte, Fotos, Proben, Besonderheiten. 2) Die Tabelle gibt einen
 Eindruck von Art und Umfang der Computer-Datei (siehe Anhang I, Kap. 6). In
 vorliegender Diplomarbeit ist die Information, welche der Datensatz enthält
 nicht voll ausgeschöpft.
    Der Datensatz soll die Eigenschaft haben, daß er computer-lesbar und menschen-
 lesbar zugleich ist. Einerseits haben alle Einträge ein gewisses normalisiertes
 Format, das automatisch verarbeitet werden kann, andererseits kommt auch
 beliebiger Text darin vor. Für die formelhafte Beschreibung der Gegebenheiten
 haben sich im Verlauf der Feldarbeit einige Abkürzungen ergeben, die im Index
 (Anhang VI) aufgeführt sind.
    Über Datum und Uhrzeit, die zwar gespeichert, aber nicht abgedruckt sind,
 sind alle Eintragungen mit dem Feldbuch verknüpft, dem sie entstammen. Das
 Feldbuch ist Teil der detailierten 8-monatigen Reise-Aufzeichnungen.

                       Preface to Appendix IV



    The table of the field datas contains 1040 field points. It is not
 suited for reading it, but it is printed here in the appendix for the
 following reasons: 1) The reader has not only the succinct information from
 the geological map, but he may controll, if requested, each single point
 regarding to the field-analysis, orientation meassurements, photos,
 rock samples, particularities. 2) The table gives an impression of the
 kind and amount of the data bank (see {@}appendix_I,_chapter_6).
 In the present diploma thesis the information of this data bank is not
 fully used.
    The data bank shall have the feature, that it is readable by computer
 and by man. On the on hand all entries have a format which is processable
 automatically, on the other hand also arbitrary text may appeare. For the
 description of the things in formulars, during the field work some
 abbreviations were developed, which are described in the index
 (appendix VI).
    Date and time of the entries are stored as well, but not printed. By
 date and time each entry is connected with its origin in the field book.
 The field book is part of the detailed 8-month journey diary.
